My hair is straight on botton and curly ontop, I need help?!?

my hair is semi wavy and curly on top and on the botton is straight. Is it only super straight when I brush my hair. Though still when I get out of the shower its straight. I need help. Because I used to use this ceramic Straightener is this what caused it? how do I style hair like this? Another thing, related to my hair. its super fizzy! I hate it! I love to wear it down but its so embarrassing because it causes my face look big......any suggestions. I wanted to get bangs for the new school year, my face shape is oval and I don't want blunt cut bangs, would bangs work for me? Thank you so much for the help!
