those aren't very good flat iron. Chi's are much better. As for the heat protection, it all depends on what you are using. You can have some that are shampoos that heat protection. You shower, blow dry, and then use the flat iron. Or you can get the wet to dry flat iron which means you skip out the blow drying part. If you use cream or spray it's best to put it in when your hair is wet and then same as above. But there are some sprays and creams that allow to be put on dry hair. You just have to read the label. good luck!

Doorway carpet damaged by ferrets...any suggestions?

My furry children do not like being denied access to certain rooms, and as a result have damaged the carpet beneath a few doors. I'm not interested in laying more tile or in replacing the carpets at this point. I'm looking for a solution that will cover the damage that has been done and not look horrible. A few of the doors have carpet on one side and ceramic tile on the other, one has carpet on both sides. Is there a transition piece (not sure what they're called) that would be wide enough to cover the damage (about 4" at the widest)? If anyone else has had this problem, I would appreciate any ideas! Today I saw a C-130 doing touch and goes at a civilian airport. Why?

I was in downtown Kansas City and saw a breathtaking sight: A C-130 transport was circling around a civilian airport just north of downtown doing touch and goes. There are a few ANG stations in the outer lying regions, but none based at this airport. Do the armed forces perform orientation missions to various city airports, or do pilots in training take liberties in choosing various landing spots to get stick time? There were civilian aircraft entering the pattern along with the C-130, so they didn't clear the airspace for them. Just wondering why they would do that. Either way, it was pretty cool to see.

Is there something psychologically wrong with my grandmother?

Okay, im 13, she's 76. I went to bath and body works and got myself a ceramic strawberry candle holder, and a few candles to go in it. I left it downstairs... and i come back because i woke upp... it was gone... my grandma had thrown away my mountain dew when i deliberately told her not to throw it away. and she said clearly okay. then, she said later on when i was looking for it " i throw it away, you didn't tell me not to throw away your bottle " when i KNOW i did. Honorable Military Discharge for Chapter 5-13?

I have been serving Active Army or about 18 months now and I had a series of traumatic events that occurred recently and went to see a psychiatrist about it and now being Honorably Discharged under Chapter 5-13 Personality Disorder. My question is, do I still have a chance at being a police officer? it is my life long dream and I currently have a degree in Criminal Justice. hello everybody I am particularly asking from anybody with renovation experts about new flooring for my house, particularly my kitchen and bathroom, have been looking around and instead of your typical ceramic tile, or vinyl tile, i found this tile place and they have this Beautiful porcelain tile. Not so great "best friend"?

How can I create amazing bokeh for my photography? (Picture Included)?

I'm not sure that you will be able to create a bokeh like that with your camera. I was never able to create such a shallow depth of field using a bridge camera, but you should be able to create a fairly pleasing bokeh in your own photos. You will probably need to use your camera's macro mode. Zoom in on your subject--you really need a long focal length to create a shallow depth of field, so make sure that your lens is at its full extension. You'll need to get as close as possible to your subject, and you'll get a much better bokeh effect if your background is a good distance away from your subject--I'd say at least 5-10 feet.

Why does this girl do this everytime?

I'm sure you know there's a big difference between knowing your heart's going to get broken and it actually happening. I think all you can do is be there for him if it all goes wrong. Basically, for my ceramics class, we need to bring in photos of album covers (like music cd covers) so that we can make clay plaque replicas of them. However, my teacher said that he does not recommend covers with people on them because it is too hard to draw. An example is Glee's album covers, they only say Glee and the season name. Ok. My question has to do with the area surrounding the Tower of Americas. Right before you get to the ticket booth to the Tower, there is a wooden playground. Across from that playground on the other side of the sidewalk there is a medium size hill. Buried in that hill, but still visible are four steps. One of the steps is upright, not in the position it is supposed to be in. The steps appear to be ceramic or portico(I guess thats right) and they are beautifully painted. They also look old and look to the be the remnant of something that was there before, but maybe it got torn down or wiped away in a natural disaster, I don't know, thats just how it appears. It just appears like it's "whats left." You know? So anyway, there is no sign anywhere that I could see that explains these stairs and I have looked on the internet, but did not find anything. Black mold under the bathroom tiles?

We rent a home that was built in the 60's, and from apparent years of coats of paint on the bathroom ceramic tiles, the paint just kept chipping and peeling off, and getting everywhere, especially in the tub when my daughters would have their baths. We tried several different methods of paint removal, but there were too many coats, and it just barely came off. Our landlord agreed that we could remove the tile, and put up a tub surround. In beginning of removing the tile, we came to realize that all of the sheetrock was damp, and all along about the bottom foot or so of it was rotten, and crumbling into mush, and some parts of it had a black color to it. A little bit further into the project, i began to feel physically ill, almost to the point of vomiting. We've lived here a year, and i have noticed that mine and my daughters allergies seem to be getting worse also. Should i be concerned that this IS black mold? Does the entire bathroom need to be torn apart?

Questions about Hibiscus flowers...?

I recently planted 3 hibiscus plants in my backyard and have noticed that the blooms (which are breathtaking and bright orange) wilt after one day and then die... is this normal behavior for them? The plant guide that comes with them says that they grow 10-15 feet but in my research a lot of people uproot them and move them indoors during cold weather. Is this recommended during the winter season for these? If so, how difficult is the transition on the plants? I am VERY new to the planting of flower beds so any help that anyone can give would be greatly appreciated!

Putting ceramic tile over hardwood floor?

Stripped old vinyl flooring down to the original 1942 hardwood floor in the kitchen. Had the floors repaired and refinished but they ended up looking terrible......the repaired spots took the stain differently than the rest of the floor. Now I'd like to consider ceramic tile. The kitchen is L shaped with the small part of the L that comes off the main kitchen is only about 3' x 7' but a few feet from the wall, the floor dips approximately 1/8 th of an inch. Do I need to put down an entire plywood subfloor to level it and then top that with cement board before I tile? Is there any way around this? I got 3 estimates and the only one that noticed the dip included first checking each individual board of the hardwood floor and nailing down what needed to be nailed down then applying a plywood subfloor over the entire floor for leveling THEN putting down the cement board (of course this estimate is about $900 more than the others. Is this all necessary? Is there any way around this? Any suggestions/opinions would be appreciated.

Chipped tiles: How to repair small chips in floor tiles?

I have an iPhone 3GS now but in light of the iPhone 5 and Nexus Prime rumors I'm hearing good arguments from both sides. My understanding is that the iPhone OS is more secure and user friendly but the Android system allows more features. I'd appreciate any insight.

How to handle a rumor when its true and they have full evidence?

I have a computer laptop somebody stole it or its at the pawn shop I have a very embarrassing video on there I rather take naked pictures or eating another girl out then that video to be seen its worth dieing over and if its at the pawn shop do they erase the whole computer? And if its a person who stole it can they hack into the computer if they don't know the password? Can they see your files? Guilt of Coming Out Of The Closet?

I'm currently in the closet about my sexuality but not for the reason you think. I'm bisexual and have known this ever since I was six I probably Like Boys 60% girls 40%. I recently came out to myself about 2 months ago. Nobody knows that I'm bisexual except for me.So anyway last year at my school a guy came out and he got alot of attention from some of the girls. Some of my friend and I (Before I came out to myself) joked around and said he's probably not gay and only said so to get attention from the girls. Anyways now it's summer and I feel like I want to come out but I probably only want to come out to get attention from the girls because before this I never had the courage to come out and kept it to myself. Now im stuck if I come out I'll feel guilty there are many Gays,Bisexuals,Lesbians,Pansexual,etc. who wanted to come out because they felt trapped and guilty while I only want to come out to get attention not from just the girls but from many people. Will Rockstar games announce anything about GTA 5 (or whatever it will be called).?

I have been wondering for awhile if they will announce it. I have looked several times for anything about the game, but it was just rumors like GTA 5 will likely be in the Hollywood area, the next GTA is codenamed RUSH, and the GTA 5 character list might have been discovered. I just want to know if they will announce anything about it in the near future of like 3 months or so from now. I know someone said they wil not announce the game, when they will announce info about it, how they plan to announce it or details about the announce strategy, but I really can't be sure about that statement since it might be a trick to keep the public especially GTA fans quiet and not ask anything. Is it likely that Rockstar Games will announce some details about the next GTA game in the near future or some time at least 3 months before the games release?

Although this sounds like an extreme clich�, I think this passive bully might be gay, he used to call me stuff like gay, even though everyone knows I'm Bi (However, half of them don't know what bisexual means, so they assume it means gay), target me with foot balls and bottles and he even tried public humiliation on me and my friends. Tangled Movie-Lantern scene (ripoff????)?

BiPolar ex-BFF is still spreading rumors and lies about me?

My former BFF who I haven't seen or talked to in over a year, has recently been spreading new rumours and lies about me in my hometown. Fortunately, I don't live there anymore. I live in the city about 45 minutes away, but it's getting really old. I had seen how mean and vindictive she could be but I never thought that sort of anger would ever be directed at me. I really felt almost the exact same thing about my ex. She was my sun too so much so i always sang the song you are my sunshine when i was around her. Every single day without her was a living hell for me when we broke up. My Pelonis space heater shorted out and caused a fire. Do I have a case?

My Pelonis ceramic space heater caused a fire in my family room. I'm so glad we were home and awake! The heater was off but still plugged in. Honestly during the winter it's a permanent fixture in that room because it gets so cold. We do turn it off but typically do not unplug it. The other morning I heard what sounded like a cell phone vibrating, very loudly I might add. The next thing I new I heard my husband screaming "fire, fire, fire....He's your typical goof ball...so I figured he's goofing off with the kids...I turned around and looked into the family room and saw he was serious. There was a fire up the wall and behind the chair. He was able to get the fire out on his own however there was some damage. The plug on the heater shorted out (actually melted in the outlet). We did get an estimate for the damages and it's just over 8,000.00. We do have home owners insurance but I'm curious to know if it's worth the time and effort to try to have the manufacturer of the heater pay for the damages. It could have been a lot worse had we not been home and/or asleep but if this could be faulty manufacturing I don't think it's fair we are stuck with a large deductible.
